Probably more like the crazy neighbor. Playing the murderer was the biggest stretch for me. But, since I'm not exactly like any of the characters I've played, all the roles have involved my imagining what it would be like to be that person and then trying to act accordingly. We try to fill in the lives of our characters as they were up to the moment the play starts, so we don't just start "acting" when the curtain goes up. There are usually clues in the script about things that have happened earlier -- and then we make up the rest of the back story, so the character comes with a complete set of baggage that informs what we do.

No Shakespeare. The current play is Barefoot in the Park. If you remember the movie from the '60s, I'm Velasco, the crazy upstairs neighbor. This is my first role as a flirt; I've been drunks and murderers, rednecks and a goofy inventor. But until now I've never been in a role once played by Charles Boyer.
